Additional work

Quick TL;DR’s of my other projects that are either outdated or not product design-y.

Revamping the GitHub Education marketing site

GitHub Education • 2024 • Lead Product Designer

As the lead product designer for GitHub Education’s marketing site redesign, I abstracted complex in-product UI mockups into beautiful marketing assets, collaborated extensively with cross-company stakeholders, and contributed art direction for graphic designs.

I designed all UI assets and collaborated with cross-company stakeholders to completely revamp GitHub Education’s marketing site.

  • Generated 749% increase in visitors to the GitHub Education marketing site.
  • First EPD team to add marketing content with new CMS tooling.
  • Expanded my visual design toolset and confidence.

The new GitHub Education marketing site I designed generated a 749% increase in visitors.

Making curriculum design less painful for Apple employees

Apple • 2021 • UX Design Intern

I redesigned an internal tool for instructional learning designers at Apple that enabled them greater flexibility and control over how to display their content. Think Squarespace, but scoped down for the needs of content designers.

My redesigns for a content creation tool for Apple’s instructional designers, using content from one of their existing courses “Be a Zebra.”

0-1 design for Cisco’s CX Cloud Portal mobile app

Cisco • 2019 • UX Design Intern

I collaborated with another design intern to design, from scratch, the mobile application for Cisco’s CX Cloud Portal. I specifically focused on notifications, chat-based interactions, and information visualization.

My 0-1 designs for the Cisco CX Cloud Portal mobile application focused on improved navigation and information visualization in a mobile context.

Designing a tangible UX to help kids learn math through movement

UC Berkeley Embodied Design & Research Lab • 2021 - 2022 • HCI researcher

I collaborated with other researcher-designers on the Balance Board Math project, which uses physical feedback from a student on a balance board and digital feedback to facilitate math learning.

I sketched this storyboard of how a student interacts with Balance Board Math, using both tangible and digital feedback to inform their math learning.

  • Combined my interests in academic research, physical and digital design, and classroom-based K-12th learning.
  • Rapidly iterated, tested, and iterated again — often on a weekly basis to accommodate data-gathering needs.
  • Published three papers (AERA, IDC, and ICLS) and received multiple grants reaching over $2,000 in value.

One of our first in-person research sessions, where we observed two learners using Balance Board Math to reason about frequency and amplitude.

AI-generated worksheets for K-12 teachers

Master's capstone project • 2022 • Lead Product Designer

For my my graduate program’s final capstone project, I collaborated with three other students to design and implement MateriALL, a Google Slides add-on that uses AI to generate worksheets based on an existing slide deck.

I was the lead product designer for MateriALL: an AI-powered Google Slides add-on that helps teachers generate classroom materials.
